  • Quick Update

I haven't been on here in over a month. A little computer break is a good thing !

In the meantime,we sold BOTH of our houses! We got a good price for both and we feel blessed! Right now our home is almost all packed. We have done so in two days! Needless to say-we are tired....no exhausted!

Can't write too much more,I am very pressed for time. Our phone and internet will be shut off tomorrow. Because our houses sold so fast (we need to be out by tomorrow),we are in a definate time frame. I just wanted to inform everyone of our good news!

  • Trailwalking!

We live in the Finger Lakes Trails region here on the Southern Tier and enjoying trailwalking very much. Consequently we take full advantage of the beautiful scenery and adventures that these trails bring. We not only hike on the trails we fish and swim in the gorges. It is so much fun and a wonderful way of spending quality time as a family. Here are some pictures from our last three hikes.

  • Challenging...

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourself. Never be lacking in  zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.     Romans 12:9-12

Therefore,as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentlenss and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another Forgive as the Lord forgave you.        Colossians 3:12 &13

    I am challenged.....

This is what the house John painted across from the street that he built last year looks like finished. He painted the roof too! What do you think dad.....?

The house still isn't just the nicest, but it is definately an improvement!

This is weekend John built a fire pit with some bricks a neighbor gave him. We need to buy a grill for it so we can cook on it. But for now we will just enjoy some bonfires and making smores with it!

    The finished fire pit:

Our garden is doing GREAT! This is Hannah standing outside our fence beside our sunflowers. They are huge!

This is how high the onions are:

  • Strawberries,strawberries and more strawberries.....

Last week,or maybe it has been two by now,not sure anymore.Anyway we recently went strawberry picking as a family. We had fun and it was wonderful working together. The girls enjoyed themselves and it was very productive with three little helpers. We picked 26 qts. in less than a half hour!

If you have ever picked strawberries you will know that the picking is actually the easiest part of 26 qts. After washing,hulling,chopping,mixing,cooking,canning,etc...,picking them really is the easy part! But they are now done and I am pleased with the results.Fourteen qts of frozen berries,16 pints of jam,and 5 satisfied tummies from all of the fresh ones we have eaten.

Now for your enjoyment, some photos of the "events":

    "Look mom"....

This recipe (I made 7 batches) called for 28...YES 28 CUPS OF SUGAR...scary isn't it?!!!

    The end results:
